Depended on wagon size. The bigger ones were always one in the center and then 2 on each side then build up, alternating sides on the end bale. 5 rows high and then 3-4 on top usually as a tie row. The smaller, narrower wagons had to be stacked 2 across and we usually only went 4 high. Those frames were just too light. 100 bales on one of them was a heavy load.
