West of Lincoln a little bit | I think the extreme variability in the fields is where the combine monitor will tell the tale. I've never had a wildly variable field produce a huge final average. Unless I wanted to pretend my 160acre field was actually a 40 acre field and just conveniently forget to mention the other 120 acres result. Why not? The USDA seems to do it when they overshoot our production, then ratchet it way down and say, "but we also found 300 mil bushels in some guys barn, wasn't that lucky???" |
