IL
I just put pex through my whole house. The local water supply will eat copper pipe alive. I roughed in the pex for my whole house, from the basement, in less than two hours by my self. I use the crimp fittings, the crimpers come with a go/no go gauge. Plumbers won't use pex because anyone can do it and they are out of work. I set my system up in my house to resemble an electrical breaker box. I had home runs going to every room that had water supply. I used 1/2" pex with internal fittings, I have no pressure or flow problems. Static pressure is around 58 lbs, with a shower the pressure drops to 45 lbs. I came in the house with 1" PVC and took that right to the hot water heater and have that going right to my water supply configuration. I put shut offs that already had the pex barb ends at both ends of the runs so I can isolate any problem without shutting off the main supply. The ease of installation makes up for alot. I bought a 500' roll of pex for $120, but the fittings were kind of pricy but you don't need very many since the 90's become bends. I LOVE MY PEX
