You could always take the triticale for forage around memorial day and then moldboard plow for soy or for edibles.

I really struggle with putting in a small grain cover crop with seed costing what it does only to plow it in. Unless using seed produced on farm 100lb/ac triticale plus some oats is a $50-$60/ac investment in the next crop plus the cost of drilling. With neither crop being a legume its hard to see where they would provide that much value.

But, if it has worked for you before I can't really criticize. Successful management practices are very very localized so what doesn't work for me may very well work for you
