Subject: RE: Relay cover crop?

Penn Yan, NY
We've been replanting from the same stock for at least 15 years. Had a real hard winter in 2013-2014 and lost most of them but what survived must have toughened up a good bit. We are getting a green winter pea to try this year, hoping we can harvest with wheat and then separate and have feed peas and milling wheat. Would like to think that the peas in with the wheat will fix nitrogen later in the season helping protein but may just we be wishful thinking.
