Custer County, Nebraska | That is a good point. It has been a challenging year putting up hay. It wouldn't surprise me if many people have only gotten one cutting off because of our continual wetness. Up in our Sandhills of Nebraska, pasture country, we usually cut the sub-irrigated meadows for hay. Water table levels have risen so high that water that is standing is actual ground water itself.
A lot of that green area might be ground that hasn't been cut at all. | |
