West of Lincoln a little bit | The weather in almost all of central/southeastern Nebraska is historic. The wettest August on record (records go back to 1895) and the second wettest month EVER on record... so far. With more rain coming this weekend we're going to top the all time record.
It's been many days of cloudy, cool, and WAAY too stinkin' wet. Many crops have had wet feet with no break for over a month. Everything is flooded to the point some of us are starting to worry things won't dry out in time for the harvest schedule we expected. Last year's harvest was a nightmare of moisture... do not want that again. I've got drown out on my replant/drown out. Merrick County has people standing in chest high water in their fields. That's gonna take a while to dry out, and there's more rain coming. |
