Subject: is fruit good or bad for you????

Pittsburg, Kansas

Orange juice has both glucose and fructose. Fructose is actually worse than the glucose but only the glucose spikes the glucose levels in the blood. The fructose goes through the stomach lining and directly to the liver for processing (bypassing digestion). Table sugar is half glucose and half fructose.

The "best" fruits for a diabetic are the low sugar ones. Berries like strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and blackberries............in very modest amounts. Whole fruits, not juice.
