Sure because there is never an outbreak now from the heavily "inspected" packers.

I'd venture to say almost everyone on this site gets meat from a local guy that isn't USDA inspected and the State inspections are sketchy at best, somehow we are all here to type about it. Not to mention the 10K+ years of people successfully eating non inspected meat. The gvt. digging their greedy, dirty fingers into the process doesn't make it safer, cheaper or better. In fact, it does just the opposite.

This is typical of what you get with gvt. intervention. The big guys all donate to NCBA, then these henchmen guard their interests by making sure no new competition can enter the market. Exact same thing happens with Milk and Farming. The big guys love gvt. hurdles to keep the stranglehold on the sector, they can pay small increases or they can pay someone else in the gvt. to ignore their indiscretions via a "fine". Just look at a recent post on here about a producer that recently shut down because they couldn't afford to fight all the loons any more via the "system".
