Never ran the JD's (would like either one of them, but nice one's still sell for a high price in Western Canada) - I believe 9501's were built in cooperation between Buhler (FarmKing) and JD prior to the Versatile buyout - the few you see for sale list for $35-40K Canadian.

We've run a Massey 851 PT - which is similar to a MF 850, and currently have two IHC 1482, which are similar to 1480's - the IHC's take from 150-250 HP in from the tractor depending how much you want to load them - lower HP end determines throughput and handling in the field - upper end limit is based on the gearboxes on the combine - too much power & the gearboxes can give out....
