Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | Mostly just interested in they prefer one over the other. Most of the hay around here goes to the exporters, I'm fairly well connected to a couple presses in CA, and they don't really care. However, they really like 3 tie so I don't think I'm going to be able to get away from them entirely. Which means I'm probably not going to be baling huge amounts with one, especially with no more acres than I have in hay right now.
For a while they were pushing guys to shorten the bales up a bit and make them as heavy as possible so they could just load them directly right into the cans, but that seems to have faded. It's an interesting market, CA exporters have bought everything for last few years. Then this year it's the guys from Willamette Valley and WA that are buying everything. Haven't sold a bale that is going south. | |
