Central Nebraska | I don’t buy the stories of waiting on parts that long. I have lost transmission, a hydro, a hydraulic pump, and a main drive on Claas combines over the years and haven’t been down over a week yet. They took a whole chopper off a brand new one a hundred miles away before and brought it to me due to mine blew apart at 60 hours. If it is foreseen that I will be down over 2 days they ask if I want a used machine to keep going! Claas is damn expensive and has some extra maintenance but has a ton of capacity. The original poster just needs to keep an aps belt and impeller belt on hand to start with and maybe a speed sensor all the rest will be foreign to him until he goes a year or two and even the first time he blows an impeller belt he might want to watch a hired monkey do it because there is lots of trucks such as an 18mm socket with a 6 inch pipe welded to it to let the feeder house drive spring out and retention. | |
