Oregon | I'm not sure if you are hooked up wrong of if you are just using the wrong names for things.
As others have posted, the Zero Pressure Return port is not a high-flow port, it generally functions as a case drain- NOT a high-flow return port.
But no matter what you are or are not doing- just go to Section 63 of your Operator's Manual and you will find some good illustrations for how to hook up properly in various applications.
If you do not own an Operator's Manual for some strange reason, you can read yours on-line here after you input the model number and select the serial number break..

edit- I just compared your photo to the illustration in your manual. You are in the wrong port. See the manual and, as illustrated, move to the ports (there is a pair of motor return ports) above where you are now.
edit 2 - You mention running the motors in either direction. If that is something you need to do (pressure in both directions), then you have to run both hoses from both motors to an SCV.
