Just wondering how many baler hours on a set of chains? I bale only straw and have 15000 bales and 292 hours on the baler. Chains still appear very good. We only bale 4.5 foot diameter.

Power 605n is 4 years old now, has about 6,500 Bales at 64 in tall, about 500 hours. have changed the chains twice now. For me it's not worth the risk of breaking a pickup chain in the middle of the night. I change out the heavy chains also, I don't like having worn sprockets for running chains too long. I usually change them every two years or two thousand bales |
