Hours or bales doesn’t matter. Go by chain stretch. Industry standard for non O ring chain is 2% stretch, 1% for O ring. Real easy to measure stretch on 80 chain, measure 12” of chain beginning at the edge of one pin and see how much past 12” the 13th pin is. 1% on 12” is very close to 1/16”.
