Subject: RE: Johnson county IA proposed new livestock ban

cbm - 8/10/2019 03:13 Is the requirement 25 animal units per acre or 25 animal units per operation? The article reads per acre the video says per farm. It's not the end of the world. Farms in the cheseapeak bay water shed have been required to have a cafo permit for any operation over 200 animal units for many years. Animals not confined do not count towards the cafo permit.

Iowa already has to have a CAFO permit for anything over 300 Animal Units.

Make no mistake, this is Johnson Co trying to ban livestock farms.    Doubtful it would hold up in court if/when challenged.

If it does hold up in court there will be more counties following suit shortly.
