Will sheep eat pea straw? Asking because I dont want to bale a bunch and then they won't eat it and I cant do anything with it. Would be combined from a JD S690. Thanks

I'm not recommending it but have heard of guys feeding canola straw.
Have a couple times in the past fed free choice straw with 5 to 6# of rolled barley and 1.5# of a 32% cp beef supplement w rumensin and the cows looked good come spring time.
Not by choice but when anything else is real tough to source - - - maybe if you have lots out so that they can pick through it and limit feed the decent hay and add some grain + protein supplement.
It will be tricky the last 3 weeks before lambing and I'd hope your going to lamb on fresh grass or real close but when they're hungry they will eat more stuff than they would if they weren't!

Might get more through them if the pea straw gets run through a tub grinder first.

Sheep do better than cows on a great ration and poor than cows on a poor ration so you would need to be real careful.
