NW IL | If all you are going to do is yield monitor with 2630 and not steer than you can feed in 3rd party GPS to the 2630. If you want to run John Deere steering than you are limited to a John Deere GPS.
We currently run John Deere S 680 combine with ag leader yield and ag leader steering components and are overall happy with it.
We have also rented different Deere combines in the last couple years and ran them with a JD 2630 display. I will give John Deere credit, they have greatly improved their yield calibration procedure as well as moisture sensor. Ironically...both the JD moisture sensor and JD mass flow on S series combines are sourced from ag leader. While the JD system worked fine, anyone of the guys from our operation that ran it would more or less say "I prefer ag leader".
My personal vote would be Ag Leader.
