South Central MN | Does it discuss seed genetics anywhere in the full article? 60 years ago we were right around a 50bpa national average just for easy numbers? Now we're at ~180bpa? So we increased yields by 360% in the same time frame they're worried about decreasing yield by 80%. I know that trend line yield is a contentious topic, but I'd be willing to bet that improved genetics will at least allow us to hold serve against climate change to a certain extent. I'm sure many crops this year are looking far better given the conditions than they would have just 20 years ago. | |
