MO | We run 3 9.5' Houle pumps with extended hitches in both 10' pits and 8' pits. Typically we have less slope on the PTO on the 8' pits. It really depends on how much fall between the lip of the pit and the ground. Unfortunately, we cannot always get as much as we want out of our 10' pits, but they will almost suck an 8' dry. Houles are a good pump as long as you keep them greased. We had some problems with keeping oil seals in ours when they were brand new. The grease lines running to the seals in the bottom oil gallery were not filled from the factory and we blew out seals like crazy. Dealer warrantied all of them, factory admitted problems. Trouble free for about the last 15 million gallons now. | |
