We've had 10' ext hitch Houle pumps in our 8' pits many times.
The custom haulers have never ever said anything about it being hard on the pump or pto shaft.
Keep it greased and I wouldn't worry about it.
The only thing I like better about a Doda pump is that it can get in a much smaller pump out much easier than a Houle style pump. Other than the small pump outs I'd take a Houle over a Doda any day.
