Subject: John Deere 6430 Premium Fuel Issues

We have a higher hour (I think around 5000hrs) used 2008 6430 Premium we bought from our DOT guys. They used it for mowing only. This year we have had a couple of issue. Has been throwing the 1347.07 and 1347.05 codes. Right now it will run rough at anything less than 1200rpms, anything higher it is smooth. It will run ok for a little bit but then will throw the code and then de-rate power, so we can't use it for anything. Here is all we have done so far.

We replaced the filters and bled them, blew out the suction line from the tank to the first filter, and can confirm the lift pump is pumping. When it is running rough below 1200rpms, there is a clicking noise from the front of the block, I can't tell if its from the #1 injector or the HPFP. I have an inferred thermometer and shot the exhaust manifold at each cylinder. #1 is anywhere from 60-100F cooler than the back 3, which they are close to 300F depending on rpms and no load. I first thought it was the SCV since that is what most people have a problem with. But now I am wondering if the injector is bad and they all need to be rebuilt. I did pour a bottle of Lucas (sorry its what was available around the shop) in it and after it had a chance to mix in and get pumped into the system the idle smoothed out quite a bit. It still will throw a code but it can actually idle below 1200rpms without sounding like it is going to have a come-apart.

Anyone have experienced anything like this on theirs. I would take it to JD, but when we talked to the techs on the phone they recommend we clean the WIF sensor and that would cure it.
