Subject: RE: How do I kill this pond vegetation

I have a pond I irrigated out of and had algae terrible. Tried raking. Tried copper sulfate( bought it by 50# bags) and had no luck. Finally told my son in fall to take two old round bales of broom and put them in the tail waters. That was 3yrs ago and haven't had any trouble since with the Algae. Some guys use barley hay but didn't have any close. Sure was a cheap fix. I even bought a river screen to keep the algae out of the pivot nozzles. Wish I would of put the brome bales in 4 yrs sooner. Only draw back is if you get heavy rains the bails like to float toward the drain tube.
