Sheldon, IA | From what I heard, it has something to do with overseas. If you google geo fencing you will see some uses. Basically setting up restricted regions and or territories. When a unit enter a restricted area or leaves a designated territory someone is sent a message about the unit that crossed the line. In the 500's case it looks like it will shut down if it leaves a designated region.
I am not sure what the reason for this is in the lightbar. JUST SPECULATING I would say that this could be used by an employer to set the lightbar up to only work in his region. Or this could be used for CORS or other networks (even RTK) that charge for using their signal. If you leave the region that you paid to use it in then it would shut down. This would require you to pay subscriptions for more then one region if you lived on a boundary.
I COULD BE WAY OFF ON THIS. I AM JUST THINKING OF WAYS THAT THIS TECHNOLOGY COULD BE USED OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD.
