I agree. Divorce was worse than the sudden death of my father when I was a child.

My pastor at the time told me that divorce, a "willfull choice", can be worse than death to natural or accidental causes. Death is also final, divorce seems to go on and on.

I know of a good friend of a friend who confided that he grieved very much when Wife No. 1 suffered then died of cancer. Not to take away from the loss of Wife No. 1, however, he said the grief over losing Wife No. 2 to her choice of divorce was greater.
