| With the open center gear pump you showed in the picture, if the pump fails it would push hydraulic oil into the engine. Sump oil from the engine doesn’t reach that pump, so if it would suck from the input shaft seal(which is impossible) it would suck crankcase air. If your sure the rear engine seal is not leaking, then find out if there is an engine and transmission oil cooler. Oil transfer could happen if the coolers are cracked. I would also drain some of the hydraulic oil to make sure it’s not water or coolant getting into your transmission. I’ve also seen fuel pump leak gasoline into the engine slowly, causing the engine to burn its oil quickly. | |
