Subject: Hit it with a drag!

We have only been growing peas for a couple years, but we hit the piles with an older drag and it works fairly well. I've seen other farmers bring a skid and manure spreader out and put the piles in the spreaders and have at it. What we have done, and it workers well for us, is:

-drag
-disk and/or disk rip
-finishing tillage pass
-plant

Piles are definatly a pain in the ass, but having operated one of the machines for a few hours, I have a whole new respect for the guys that do it.
