SW Ohio | Google "Battery Tender" if you want to shop. I bought mine from Amazon. I like the waterproof unit. I would try to keep the yellow top. It's probably OK. The Optima batteries hold up well for me.
EDIT. Chad H and others have a good point about these keeping up in constant usage. The waterproof Battery Tender has less charging amperage than the bigger ones. So now you need to decide by the hours your base is on (amp hours used) the capacity of your battery to stay above your desired voltage and the charging amperage of the chosen tender.
Without having all this info my gut still thinks a larger Battery Tender and your deep cycle would work, IF your base is not on 24/7.
