Subject: RE: GOVERNMENT WORKERS WORKING ON HOLIDAY

As a County Commissioner Our county road guys are pretty dedicated to their job, though some overtime is appreciated. However with a culvert damage etc, must be addressed whenever reported or liability issues esculate. We were sued claiming first responders did not arrive for 20 minutes, when the tape proved we made it in 9 minutes and they had given wrong address. Also people will call because tree fell in road and you find a limb smaller the baseball bat.

Road crews are easy targets to gripe about. Example chip/seal crew, FLaggers, pilot car, truck drivers, spreader guys, mechanic, all waiting because road oil transport(150 miles)does't show up at scheduled time. Then bust azz so don't have to pay demurrage on road oil truck, and be ready for next truck.

Every occupation has some down time, and some this needs done NOW! Look in a mirror before being too critical.
