it sounds as though it must be easier than i thought to get out or postpone jury duty. in the seventys a good friend of mine was the biggest farmer in my area and farming over a thousand acres at the time. he told me he was too busy planting to fool with jury duty, i remember that the day he was suppose to report for jury duty he went to the field instead and the sheriff came to the field and took him from his tractor to the courthouse to serve his dutys. my friend even got to ride in the sheriffs patrol car.
