I don't think there is a "sweet spot." If you set it less than 100% to try and keep it from turning on over those little slivers, it would only do so when the end of the boom section approaches the slivers. When the rest of the boom section travels over the sliver, that section of the boom will still turn on when it get past X% distance from the END of the boom section. IE if you set it at 90%, when the first foot of a ten foot section is over the sliver, it would stay off, but it would come on when the second thru tenth feet pass over.
On the planter, which is set up with two sections of six rows, I run it on about 70%, so it shuts off when four rows are overlapping, and two are left short...kind of a compromise. That's how i normally tried to do it by hand. I'd like to set up the next planter with either 3 or 4 rows/section. | |
