Pittsburg, Kansas | I think that is a significant problem for many areas and I know it is right around my home operation area. Land for rent is scarce as hens teeth. I have not been a big proponent of buying a lot of land but on the other hand I have ended up purchasing several farms over the years. Some purchased was because I could not find rental ground but much of it was ground I had rented and the owner wanted to sell. Had I stuck with a strict no land ownership policy I would be farming considerably less ground today because if I had not bought it, neighbors would have and they would be farming it. So much of my land ownership came out of necessity, not really because I was in the market to buy land. It was either buy it or loose it. John
