How long till water got in the pond after bentonite was put in? I work for Excavating company and we always till in the bentonite into dirt. Also another problem with clay is if it isn't filled right away with water and it don't have any cover it will dry out and create and then when it fills with water water will seep out the cracks. We have had to in the past pump ponds out and fix them because of the drying out cracks. Putting a layer of topsoil of it will help a lot
