Alabama
how much pasture you have? the safe way to get into cattle. if there is a sure way. find a well respected cattle buyer. get him to purchase you 75 bull calves around 400 or 500 pounds. the calves need to be the same grade. i like yellows or black baldys. yellows are hereford charolais cross. get the calves about march. work them graze them out through the summer hopefully to around 750 pounds. the buyer i used would always repurchase them in august. a truck load should be less than 50000 pounds. sell a few at the sale to find a floor on the selling price. then sell the truck load to the buyer. the only feed you need will be the first few weeks in the work - sick pen.
