I’m guessing the hard winter didn’t cost you $250/hd. If it did wow! Are you sure you had all costs figured in correctly? $100+ profit locked in to $150 loss!! Ouch!
I was thinking the same thing. If your big losses are coming at the feed lot, take control of that sector of the business as well. Or don't, just sell backgrounded calves. I know it's really common but I would have a hard time retaining ownership of cattle under someone else's care. JMHO. |
