From a risk management standpoint I would argue that all day long not on 100% of your APH but more like 85% if you are over a year out. There's money in rolling contracts and the best way to gain that is to see for a profitable level in advance.
I don't see how hedging is risky and to me it's the opposite. Yes you might loose some upside if cash goes to $5 but what are the odds of that?
