Kolorado | For our farm, running fertilizer and keeping the products separate, is really the only advantage.
To really be useful, the carts need to be 350bu or bigger to get much done. We've got the 430bu cart, and it's just barely big enough to get by without being more work than a box drill.
Most of the old used ones have the 270bu carts. So if doing fert, one of the tanks will limit your acres and keep the fills about like a box drill or less.
Carts don't require too much maintenance, maybe rebuilt the seed rollers every once in awhile, which isn't too much money. And the hoses every few years depending on how much you run through them, and if stored outside. | |
