Faunsdale, AL | You need a liquid withdrawal valve that will fit in a dip tube that is frequently already installed in your tank. This looks like some sort of brass relief valve screwed into a port in the tank, but it has a solid plug screwed in to block it.
The plug comes out, the correct valve will screw into the fitting and open it as it seats so tank doesn't have to be empty or depressurized. If you have an unused valve already installed in a brass base fitting on a tank it is most likely a liquid withdrawal.
Then you need a length of hose with an adapter attached to go from your new shutoff valve to the tank you want to fill. Usually there is another shutoff valve on the hose end close to the fill adapter to make shutting the flow off when tank is full more convenient.
Your propane dealer would be a good place to start. Is it a leased tank or do you own it? | |
