If it is in the down position it shouldn't be hard on the units, it is hard on the rubber stops. Make sure they are all good and the bolts are all in the mounts. And that you don't have a bent back mount.
You have to buy the whole unit, unless I sell you a sensor
Pin one 12V, pin 2 signal, pin 3 ground
