Subject: CaseIH Magnum 245/275 vs 260/290

North Central Kansas
I have been looking at these model of tractors as a replacement for my 7250 as my main tractor. I pull a 1250 16 row planter, drill and 850 bu grain cart. It appears to me that you can almost buy a 260 for what a late model 245 or 275 sells for. Are the Iveco engines that much of a lemon compared to the CDC engines. I have read about the O ring issues with the oil coolers and the liner seals but I thought CaseIH was standing the repairs for those issues. I also understand that the 245/275 tractors will be pre-emission engines which can definitely be an advantage. I was hoping to get into a 245/275 but it seems like the last few months that the values of those tractors seems to have increased.

Other than the engines/emission equipment, and cab interior what is different on a 245/275 vs the 260/290?
