NW Iowa | If you can't calibrate it and it goes to full lockup in up or down position, you have a bad unit. Depending on SN and yr or if updated it might have old style or new style units.
As for the DEF code start the tractor and hit the back button on the directional keypad and get the number so we can look it up. Tuned(turned up) or DEF removal/bypass?
Edit- When you calibrate what are you doing? Want to make sure your are actually in calibrate mode.
