Ohio | Pete the guy I help is working on a 30 year old house for a young couple that dad has a great business . They gave almost 3/4 of a mil . A home inspector billed them 8 hrs. to go over the house . Had an irrigation system that they didn't drain , nor shut off . It froze and flooded the finished basement floor . My friend gutted the walls to fix the moisture damage and when doing that , discovered the builder did not flash the windows properly . Long story short pretty much everything below the windows of was rotten and molded . Studs had visqueen over insulation for vapor barrier , that contained the moisture from migrating thru the drywall . Interior walls looked normal . Three replacement Windows in one small area was north of 5 k , just windows . This rotates back to me saying , dad has a great business . They have been warned if these 3 were flashed improperly , expect they all have the same condition . | |
