Watching it with my wife before church this morning as many Sunday's.  

The premise of the show is one host is going to renovate a home to meet the expectations of the current owner and the other host is going to find a home for them that meets all their desires.

Usually the renovation encounters a multitude of unexpected problems, bad wiring, leaky roof, plumbing problems, structural problems etc.  All of these take away the money that was budgeted for the renovation.  In the end they get maybe 70% of what they wanted.

Meanwhile the other host finds perfect homes BUT they are maybe 10 to 15 minutes away from where the people are currently.   Or the home is $10,000 to $20,000 higher than the budget.

Then at the end the renovated home with improvements makes it worth enough that the perfect home is affordable.

In the end though they "love" the partially finished home, especially if the other home is 5 minutes too far from the center of town and "out in the country."  

I believe they'd never survive in the west or Midwest where we hop into our car and drive 20 miles to town without a second thought.
