Northeast Nebraska | I know of 3 ranchers hit by the wave from the Spencer dam that each lost 50% or more of their calf crop on the ground. Luckily 2 of them had about a fourth of their cows to calve yet.
There are stories like this across the state and some individuals have it worse than others, but overall I don't think the losses are as bad as they are playing up. Wouldn't be surprised if it topped 100k though. Also wonder how many non-flood related losses will be turned in as such. | |
