It’s because the cross is Hereford over modern Angus, if you would cross modern Angus with older Angus or look for low intake sites you would see the same thing. If you crossed Angus with Simmentals or Chars, you would likely see the opposite. There’s tons of variation in the Angus breed for feed intake, they have an epd that says so also.
