March is the best time, but we have rarely if ever gotten them in in March.  That is why the onset of heat is so critical to our yield.  We have had yields all over the board.  One year we hit a home run, for us, and did 77 bu under irrigation.  Only did that once and the very next year we had 18 bu under irrigation.  It all depends on when the heat hits.
