It is $7 every time you make a trade, doesn't matter how many shares. Can be one $3 stock or a thousand $100 stocks will cost the same to buy each. Unless you are buying $100+ stocks it will kill you buying a handful at a time. I try for 100 shares minimum or $1K per trade.
