There are a number of guys around here that run narrow 16” belts for row crop work and swap them out with 25s for field work and keep the narrow bogies.
Not applicable to a JD RT, but we run 16” belts on our Magnum half-track for row crop work and run 24” belts w/ narrow undercarriage for everything else. Haven’t seen any negative side effects yet after 4 years.
