Subject: RE: Have you tried the no-till beans into rye before??

The photo with the caption "Late April, rye has headed out" may have been taken the first week of May. I will have to check my notes.

On thing to keep in mind is that the rye in the experiment was drilled the last week of August.
It grew very vigorously last fall (as shown in the photos) and began elongating about a month earlier than the rye we drilled mid-November after corn harvest.

Here is a link to some other photos you might find of interest... they were taken on May 11 and the rye was drilled in late September.

These photos show the first time we used the Howard rotavator that we purchased this spring.

We rotavated this field a second time last Friday and will most likely fit the field with a field cultivator right before planting a corn hybrid comparison this week (hopefully on Tuesday).

We ran the rotavator about 2" deep both times.

The field received about 6 yards of compost per acre a few days before we rotavated it the first time.
