Subject: RE: Dx33 pto not staying engaged

Glenwood, Mn

Rollee did get a hold of me.  Here is the parts list I sent him if anyone in the future is wondering (Pdf attached).

The DX33/TC33 are great tractors but the PTO gears are the weak link.  They are prone to shock and cracking.  We still have the tractor in service today with 1,800 hours with almost all of them PTO.  Total cost of parts was about $500 depending on what you want to replace while you are in there.  Labor was a good day if you've never done it.  You could probably do it in a half day if you knew what you were doing.

Also, it is imperative you check the forks/linkages.  If they are not fully engaged they have a bad habit of walking off.  Once the wear starts on the tips all bets are off.  In our case, you can tell the gears weren't meshing properly.  We replaced the shift fork and had to finangle the linkages back straight so the PTO gears would fully mesh.
